CDOT Explains 'Mystery' Billboards

DENVER – If you've been slightly confused by the ambiguous billboards throughout Colorado that say things like "Windshield Ejection," "Brain Damage," "Life or Death" and "Fatal Accident," then the Colorado Department of Transportation finally has an answer.

CDOT "solved the mystery" behind the billboards this week by updating them with images of seatbelts to cross out the negative impacts of crashes.

This coincides with the Click It or Ticket May Mobilization Effort.

CDOT says you're 30 times more likely to be ejected during a crash if you're not wearing a seatbelt. Last year, 156 people in Colorado died in crashes when they weren't wearing a seatbelt.
