A publicly traded National Advertising Company is currently seeking a qualified Field Technician in the Richmond, Virginia office. This office is primarily responsible for administration of a state signing program providing identification and directional information to the traveling public for eligible establishments throughout Virginia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Work with the administrative staff for all work.
• Survey and inspect the existing signs in our inventory.
• Complete an initial site visit and field review for new requests as needed.
• Installation of minor signs when needed. This includes calling Miss Utility for site markings, obtaining needed materials from the retailer or manufacturer.
• This position generally reports to the General Manager, although direction may be given from the Operations Manager for construction purposes and the Office Manager for administrative purposes.
• Maintain company vehicle and equipment.
• Assist with tree trimming, construction of sign structures, and removal of sign structures when needed.
• Other duties as designated by the General Manager or Operations Manager, including special projects.

Job title: Finishing Technician
Full-tim; Nonexempt
It is the primary role of Finishing Technicians to assist in the flow of production by performing tasks in any of the following product areas:
High Resolution Flex: Tasks include rolling out vinyl, measuring boards for size, participating in QC activities, trimming, prepping boards for repair or seaming and communicating critical information to Quality Control Personnel. Finishing Technicians (FT) are required to assist in maintaining and safely operate hot air welders and folding machines.
Poster Flex: Tasks include loading rolls of substrate onto a semi-automated pocketing machine. FT’s must verify settings, guide the material and insure the substrate is positioned correctly before welding and remove, stamp cut marks as required and inspect the product. They make adjustments to the machinery as required and assist in the maintenance.
RigiBlade: Tasks include loading rolls of substrate onto semi-automated slitting machines. FT’s must verify machine settings and make any necessary adjustments to insure precise slitting. Technicians are required to assist in the maintenance of machinery.
FT’s use common hand tools as well as tools designed for cutting, welding, slitting and trimming substrates and pneumatic staplers. Finished products are folded and either boxed or bagged depending on size and substrate. Technicians are routinely cross-trained between product lines.
Shipping: Certain Finishing Technicians are primarily responsible for the shipment of finished products. This requires working within Lamar’s sales and production control systems and FedEx Ship Manager. These technicians also perform QC functions in testing, measuring and verifying the finished product meets the ordered product specification and reporting any deficiencies back to QC Personnel. These positions require lifting and stacking of finished products and loading products onto trucks. FT’s working this position must be PC proficient and certified to drive a fork truck.

The Transit Operations Manager coordinates day-to-day activities based on regular communication with the VP/General Manager and market Office Manager.
The Transit Operations Manager is responsible for directing activities of an installation team. This includes planning for and the posting of displays on the exterior and interior of transit buses, light rail, platforms, shelters, stations and billboards. Other work includes overseeing the organization and storage of materials, as well as making sure that special requirements for dated inventory are closely followed.
While the Operations Manager will handle specific installation activities, the employee in this position is ultimately accountable for the installation work performed for the territory. Operations are to be managed in accordance with Lamar’s policies and procedures as well as in compliance with specific transit contract guidelines. Management is to be closely informed of area activities and significant problems.
Personnel: The employee in this position is responsible for supervising, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, disciplining and termination of installation personnel. The Transit Operations Manager shall also be responsible for the development of personnel to assist in the overall growth of Lamar and shall ensure that all personnel conform to Employer's policies, guidelines and procedures. The Operations Manager shall further be responsible for insuring that all personnel perform their duties in an efficient and productive manner. The Transit Operations Manager may be required to coordinate work with outside contractors, union employees or staff located in remote locations.
Location and Appearance of Posted Displays: The Operations Manager ensures computer files containing inventory and availability records are updated and accurately maintained at all times - daily, performs periodic audits of vehicles and displays, and ensures that posted displays are maintained in accordance with Lamar's standards and market-specific transit contracts. Provides on-going maintenance on all displays and enforces all aspects of Employer's customer service policies.
Vehicle and Workspace Maintenance: The Operations Manager is directly responsible for ensuring that Lamar’s vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and repaired. The shop, installation area, and workspaces are to be kept in a clean and organized condition.
Administrative: Assists in controlling costs and expenses, making timely payment of all bills, submitting all company reports in a timely and accurate manner, administering all programs in accordance with Lamar's policies, adhering to and supporting all Lamar directives and programs, staying abreast of all local contract requirements, informing Employer and documenting problems, conforming to EEOC guidelines, conforming to OSHA regulations, conducting a monthly safety emphasis program, obtaining necessary permits and conducting work in a way that promotes good relations with the public and business partners.

The primary functions of this position are to follow the instructions on all work orders supplied, install direct application advertising copy onto buses and light-rail trains as required, and also to post copy on coroplast as necessary and install into frames on buses.
Installation of direct application vinyl includes preparing the copy for install, laying out copy and making sure all panels are in accordance with the job order. It also requires preparing the exterior and interior of the buses and light-rail trains for installation of copy. Some installs require lifting of boxes up to 55 lbs. and the use of ladders and scaffolding. Direct application installs require the use of a razor knife to manicure vinyl for "finishing" around obstacles on the exteriors of vehicles. Attention to detail is required.
Position requires following detailed work orders, recording vehicle numbers while in the field and completing the appropriate paperwork post-install. Having a good sense of numbers and organization is important.
Additional duties include: driving to designated markets, pulling expired copy, communicating with personnel at transit districts, maintaining fuel records for company vehicles. Some jobs might require the use of an electric roller machine, propane fuel torches, and ladders.
This position requires the ability to be outside in all types of weather and the ability to adhere to safety practices while in bus and train yards, as well as in the vehicles and warehouse.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Repairing structures include but not limited to: tightening bolts, painting poles & structures, repairing trim and parts of the face and structure. Assemble structures, faces and extensions and storm damage repairs when necessary.
• Cutting and removing trees, brush/weeds, cleaning shop and supply yard area.
• Familiar with maintaining, and use of power / manual tools, company vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other projects and maintenance as needed or assigned.
• Must be able read a map, follow directions.
• Complete reports tasks
• Must attend all safety meetings as required and adhere to all safety regulations

Required Skills and Experience:
• Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
• Climb ladders and perform job duties at various heights above ground up to 100 feet
• Must have current and valid driver’s license suitable for heavy commercial vehicles

• Must be able to lift at least 85 lbs continuously throughout the day
• Must report to work as scheduled and in a timely manner
• Billboard work experience preferred

Vehicle and Office Building Maintenance: Vehicles, buildings and grounds should be maintained in accordance with Employer's policy. The Operations Manager is directly responsible for insuring that vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and repaired; shop and yard are properly cleaned and organized.
Administrative: Assist the Plant Manager in controlling costs and expenses, making timely payment of all bills, submitting all company reports timely and accurately, administering all programs in accordance with Employer's policy, adhering to and supporting all Employer's directives and programs, staying abreast of all local zoning activities, informing Employer and documenting all legal problems, conforming to EEOC guidelines, conforming to OSHA regulations, maintaining a safety emphasis program, obtaining all necessary licenses and permits and conducting a continuing public relations program.
