Solar Power

Renewable Energy
Reducing our energy footprint through the use of renewable energy is at the forefront of Lamar’s energy-related investments. Lamar has installed over 7,000 solar panels onto approximately 2,000 billboard structures in Louisiana and Florida, with an aggregate installed capacity of 1.7 megawatts.

Cumulatively, these systems return over 1.3 million kilowatt hours (kWh) back to the grid annually, and represent the largest distributed solar network anywhere in the world. The benefit of a distributed system is there are virtually no transmission losses, as the power is used essentially adjacent to where it is produced.
