FBI Alerts

Lamar participates in a formal program with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Washington, DC. Along with several other digital billboard operators, Lamar will run wanted ads for FBI fugitives, missing persons and wanted serial bank robbers. We have an Emergency Alert System (EAS) in place, which allows FBI and other emergency alerts, to be distributed on a local, state or national level, depending on the circumstances.

The success of this program has been quite remarkable. Below is an excerpt from a recent letter from the FBI:

“I am writing to express my profound appreciation for Lamar Advertising’s partnership with this office. Over the past three years, Lamar has assisted in numerous FBI investigations. Our region is safer and the FBI is more effective today because of your invaluable partnership with law enforcement. Indeed the FBI owes you an incalculable debt of gratitude. I am thankful for your willingness to deem these words of appreciation and a good corporate conscious as adequate rewards for your priceless service to our community.”
